We are not recruiting at the moment but are always interested in hearing from you.

We are especially (but not exclusively) in hearing from actors/facilitators who speak French. Below is our most recent advert.

We are looking for French speaking actors/facilitators to join our pool of freelancers who deliver our French language show ‘Voulez-Vous?’. This immersive and interactive workshop is performed in both primary and secondary schools in the UK.

We are looking for people who,

  • Speak French fluently – either mother-tongue or bilingual. It is important that your French is very good as due to the spontaneous nature of our work you can’t just learn the lines!
  • Can work on a freelance basis – we have a pool of actors/facilitators who we train up and then offer work on a freelance basis if they are available.
  • Actually like children and young people and enjoy working with them
  • Are good communicators who like to have fun and don’t mind being a bit silly! You do not need to be a trained ‘actor’ we will train you to do the work.

We pay a daily rate based on how many shows you do each day and how far you have to travel. In the 2021-22 season the basic rate was £80 for a one show day and £100 for a 2 or 3 show day. It’s a bit more if you have to travel outside London. We generally travel by public transport and cover all your travel costs for the day.

Before you apply please take a look at the Voulez Vous page on our website where you will also find a short video. If you think this is something that you would like to do then please apply as follows.

Send us your CV.  Please include all the things that you have done and your interests, not just performance stuff.

Write a short cover letter telling us why you are interested in performing our French-language show, Voulez-Vous?!  Please also include answers to the following questions:

  • Tell us about a book/film/TV show/blogger/YouTube channel/computer game or something else entertainment-related that you love at the moment – it doesn’t have to be a French one!

We do not require a photo.  Thanks.

Please send your cover letter and CV, to info@bigwheel.org.uk,

PLEASE NOTE: We are all on holiday until 15th August so you will not get a reply from us until after that date.

AUDITION DATESSaturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September 2022. If you can’t make these dates please appy anyway as you never know!
